2. Convincingly and persuasively argue that Stella is the villain of this play.

 

3. What are Blanche’s main secrets? Was it fair of her to keep these secrets from Mitch?

 

4. Argue that there are NO heroes in the play. This will entail analyzing each of the 3 main characters (Stanley, Stella, Blanche) at length. (Hero: a main fictional character who, in the face of danger, combats adversity through feats of ingenuitycourage or strength.) 

  

5. What is the moral, theme or lesson of this play?

 

6. Argue that Stanley is the villain of this play. (Villain: a character in a play, novel, or the like, who constitutes an important evil agency in the plot. a person or thing considered to be the cause of something bad: Fear is the villain that can sabotage our goals.)

 

7. What is Williams attempting to convey about the status of men versus women, respectively, in the world, and particularly within patriarchy? (Consider what Stanley gets away with by comparison to what Blanche is eternally damned for).

8. Compare and contrast the respective endings of the film and the play. Take a stance regarding which of the endings better suits the overall story being told.
